DESCRIPTION:Arizona State Museum is partnering with the Smithsonian to offer a unique and engaging professional development workshop that demonstrates the application of the Harvard Project Zero’s Look-Listen-Connect teaching strategy to engage students with content. Teachers will learn about and examine corridos and blues music traditions\, look at an ASM collection object and corrido to think about the Mexican nationalist movement of the early 1900s and symbols of identity\, hear a corrido performance by Jesus Garcia and Dena Cowan\, and write a song. Includes dinner.
