DESCRIPTION:Join the Oro Valley Historical Society as we hear from Roger Nichols\, Board member\, and Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona\, who will share his collection of American Indians cartoons gathered over 30 years. His belief\, that they are the only ethnic minority in our society that shows up regularly in cartoons because of public stereotypes\, will be on display.  Coverage ranges from the Norse forays into North America more than a thousand years ago to NASA’s current space explorations.  The lecture promises to be both enlightening and entertaining.  The presentation is free with donations gratefully accepted to keep Oro Valley history alive!

SUMMARY:Busy Day at Steam Pump Ranch!
DESCRIPTION:Join the Oro Valley Historical Society at historic Steam Pump Ranch to see the collection of archives\, documents\, photos\, and possessions from our area dating back hundreds of years.  Tours of the Pusch House Museum are self-guided\, and we have volunteers on site to answer questions and provide additional information. \nToday our naturalist will lead one hour gentle guided tours of the Ranch to share stories about the people\, plants\, geography and animals of our area.  The tours begin at the Museum at 9:15 and 10:30 a.m.  No reservations are required. \nThe Sonoran Plein Air Painters will also be at the Ranch today capturing on canvas the beauty and history that is available.  Stop by and chat with these artists as they create their masterpieces from our magnificent surroundings!
