Border Produce Tour

April 30 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

$20

Learn about the ins/outs of the produce (fruits & veggies) industry, the PRIMARY economic contributor of Santa Cruz County. This is your chance to get all your curiousities satisfied. We’ll also learn what the impact of tariffs will be directly to us, the U.S. consumer, and why. First we’ll visit Borderlands Produce Rescue, a non-profit org. that eliminates volumes of wasted produce going to the landfill (which then produces carbon gases into the environment). Next we’ll go to Chamberlain Distributing and meet with Jaime Chamberlain who is also the current President of the Port Authority of Nogales and Santa Cruz County. This will be a fascinating morning for anyone who eats fruits & vegetables! We’ll meet at the Tubac Presidio parking lot at 9:30 and travel in the BCA van.  I expect to return to Tubac by 1:30pm, but the timing is apt to be flexible (as always on tours). Price includes van transportation from Tubac.
