The Friends of Columbus Park invite you to join us at Ward 3’s Christopher Columbus Park, to pull buffelgrass. This site is completely flat and very accessible, and we will have work for all abilities. We will be working on the east side of Silverbell Lake.

Meeting Location: Meet at the southern end of the larger (Silverbell) Lake. When you drive into the park, take the FIRST RIGHT and follow this all the way around behind PACC until you get to the meeting spot parking. If you arrive late, walk up on the east side of the lake to find us. You can also get to the park by bicycle on the Diamond St. Loop.

Bring: Water, snacks, sunscreen. Digging tools if you have them.

Wear: Long pants, hat, long sleeves, closed toed shoes or boots, gloves

Additional Information: There are portable restrooms near where we will be working. Christopher Columbus Park is a great birding spot – bring your binoculars.  If you don’t want to pull buffelgrass, you are welcome to join us to pick up trash or just to take a stroll around the lake and stop to say hi to us!
