Barrio Stories

Barrio Stories: 10-Year Celebration

November 12–15, 2026

Tucson Convention Center – Alva B. Torres Plaza

For ten years, Borderlands Theater’s Barrio Stories has brought the histories, memories, and
lived experiences of Tucson’s oldest barrios to life through bold, professional theater rooted in
community. This special anniversary edition marks that milestone with a larger celebration of
the traditions and communities that continue to shape Tucson.
The program features plays by Chanel Bragg, Lydia Otero, Milta Ortiz, Marc David Pinate,
Elaine Romero, Veronica Weatherbie, and Martín Zimmerman, directed by Julian
Cardenas.

Along with live theater, audiences can explore heritage workshops and demonstrations, a
Barrio museum exhibit, Barrio Viejo tours, and daily concerts throughout the celebration.
There’s no way to experience everything happening at Barrio Stories—and that’s part of the
adventure. Think of it as a cultural adventure park: choose the experiences that call to you, or
simply go with the flow and discover what you discover along the way.
Regular admission is a $25 suggested donation.

VIP access is available exclusively with a Borderlands Theater Season Pass. Season Pass
holders receive parking, a Barrio Viejo tour, reserved seating, and entry to the celebration — plus
two more Season 40 productions at 20% off.
Experience tradition as treasure in Barrio Stories like you’ve never seen it before.
